I have not dropped by to update my blog recently! Between entertaining, working half a week in Scotland and being ill for the last 2 weeks I just have not had my mind on blogging and dieting.
My lowest weight so far has been 22st 8 lbs, but this morning I was 22st 11 lbs. It could have been worse though as I have been slipping every day in little ways. In Scotland I find that the Lee's Macaroon bars are a big temptation. Also, with the other half starting work the Friday before last I was in Scotland on my own this week - oh dear me!! Temptation fell over me with chocolate, macaroni cheese (on the way home) and sickly cakes and M & S sherry trifles. The only saving grace is that I have been sticking to my breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks so that has minimised the damage.
Still, this weekend I have slowly climbed back on board the Scottish Slimmers PEP again and I do feel better for it.
On a more positive note - I bought my Christmas outfit last week and am 3 sizes smaller than when I started this campaign in January. Although it is coming off slowly, as least it is coming off and 3 sizes smaller (size 26 instead of 32) means that I can go to more 'normal' shops now and buy clothes (M&Co, Matalan) which saves me money. Alghough I am a regular purchaser of the lovely clothes of Evans, they are expensive in comparison to some other shops (although the quality of Evans is a given). Slim people can clothe themselves more cheaply - that is a fact.
We are spending Chrismas with our eldest daughter and her husband, together with our youngest daughter. A rare thing for us to spend Christmas in this country (we ar usually away in Europe). We are looking forward to it very much, as is our daughter who so desperately wants to entertain us. Because elder and younger daughter are Scotting Slimmers PEPers they are trying to keep the Christmas menus as good as possible to minimise the damage. If I can at least be 22st 8 lbs at the end of the holiday period I will feel a winner ready to dig in for the New Year.
I have slightly longer to get ready for Anigua, with the other half starting a job in Education Management (for a Local Authority) he has left behind his long school holidays. Due to the limited number of days leave he has between now and the end of March we have moved our Antigua adventure to April instead (his new leave year). I cannot wait, and the extra month should help with maximising my weight loss before we go.
New Year is being spent in France with a very old friend of mine and her partner joining us as our house there. It will be the first time she has seen the house, her partner (French) helped with the translation at the Notaire's when we bought the house. Given my other half's more limited time off from now on we will have to make the most of short breaks to the house, but any time there is brilliant as we so easily relax and feel our batteries recharging.
Well, that is all for today. I have to finish my Christmas cards, packing for tomorrow and work planning for Scotland. I am also trying to get the house back in order again, it so quickly ends up looking a mess!
